Wayport High-Speed Internet Access at Turf Valley

Turf Valley Resort helps you stay connected and productive while away from home with high-speed Internet access by Wayport. With Wayport high-speed wired and Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless Internet service, you can access the Internet, email, and your corporate network at up to 50 times faster than dial-up service — while avoiding the waiting and disconnects you get with dial-up.

At Turf Valley, you can get online quickly and easily whether you’re in your room or villa, attending a meeting, or relaxing in a hotel Hot Spot. We offer complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi wireless Internet access in every guest room and villa, as well as in the main lobby and the Fairway Lounge. We also offer wired and wireless Internet access (fee-based) in our meeting facilities.

All you need to connect is a wireless-enabled notebook computer or a standard notebook computer with a wired or wireless Ethernet card.

The service is based on standard software and equipment, so you can use the same applications you use in the office, open your email attachments, and access and save data on your hard drive. And you’ll be able to use the phone while you’re online. To access the service, simply turn on your wireless-enabled or standard notebook computer (with wireless card installed) and launch your browser to enjoy unlimited use. What to Bring
Be sure to bring your notebook computer, network card and accessories along so you can enjoy convenient high-speed Internet access during your next stay at Turf Valley Resort. Here’s all you’ll need to connect:

For wireless access in guest rooms, common areas, and meeting rooms, you’ll need:

  • A wireless-enabled notebook computer running Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP or Mac OS 7.5 or later

OR

  • A Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless card* and standard notebook computer running Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP or Mac OS 7.5 or later

For wired access in meeting rooms, you’ll need:

  • A notebook computer running Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP or Mac OS 7.5 or later
  • An Ethernet card and accompanying dongle
  • An Ethernet cable (NOT a telephone cable). If you forget your cable, check with the front desk or gift shop.

*802.11b wireless network cards are widely available from manufacturers such as Lucent, Cisco, Xircom, Dell, IBM and Toshiba. The cards may be purchased in computer stores or through online retail sites. Wireless bridges are available (with deposit) at the Front Desk to enable those with a wired Ethernet connection to enjoy wireless access.

How to Connect
Connecting to the Wayport network is easy — just follow these simple steps.

Wireless Internet Access in Guest Rooms and Common Areas
1. Start with the computer off and the wireless card (if not integrated) installed.
2. Turn the computer on and launch a browser to accept service terms and activate your connection.

Wired and Wireless Internet Access in Meeting Rooms
1. Follow the steps for wired or wireless access above, based on the connectivity method selected for your meeting.
2. When you reach the Connection Options page, select the default option, “Meeting Room Connection.” You will be prompted to enter a password, which should have been provided by your meeting coordinator. If you have not been provided a password, leave the password field blank and select “Click to Continue.” If you are unable to connect, see your meeting coordinator.
